The voices of trans and intersex youth are often excluded from mainstream narratives, despite facing the highest levels of violence and discrimination. Their perspectives are critical for shaping effective policies and programs. Centering these voices challenges dominant narratives and highlights intersectional struggles.
The systemic challenges faced by LGBTQI+ youth in Cambodia are deeply rooted in colonial legal frameworks, religious influence, and economic marginalization.
By centering indigenous knowledge, historical context, and cross-cultural perspectives, we can better understand the structural barriers and opportunities for change. Youth-led activism, supported by legal reform and cultural reclamation, offers a path forward. The voices of trans and intersex youth must be prioritized to ensure inclusive and effective solutions. International solidarity and funding are essential to sustain these efforts and challenge the power structures that perpetuate exclusion.
