Structural settler colonialism and contested futures in the Gaza Strip

Palestinian communities have long resisted displacement through a blend of cultural memory, land stewardship, and collective identity. Their resistance is not only political but spiritual, rooted in a deep connection to the land as a site of ancestral belonging.
The situation in Gaza is not a series of isolated decisions by Israeli leaders but a manifestation of a deeply entrenched settler colonial system.
This system is sustained by global complicity, legal impunity, and the erasure of Palestinian agency. To move toward a just future, we must confront the historical and structural roots of the conflict, center Palestinian voices, and build international solidarity grounded in anti-colonial principles. The path forward requires not only legal and political change but also a transformation of the global order that enables such violence to persist.
